Woods and wife Elin are close to becoming parents |
Tiger Woods says his schedule for the rest of 2007 is up in the air as he awaits the arrival of his first child. The 12-time major-winner's Swedish wife Elin is due to give birth in early July and he is ready to take a long break.
"I don't know how much I'm going to play after or before (the birth) - a lot depends on how Elin is feeling and the health of our child," he said.
Woods, 31, has already said he is prepared to miss the Open at Carnoustie from 19-22 July.
Asked if he would be able to defend his USPGA title in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 9-12 August, he said: "I hope so."
Woods, currently preparing for next week's US Open at Oakmont, won 11 tournaments in 2006, including the Open and USPGA.
However, he admitted on Monday that he had struggled to get back into the rhythm of playing again after the death of his father Earl just over a year ago.
"Every time I'd go practise I'd always think about my fundamentals and who taught me them but my father," Woods said.
"It was hard to get away from it because a lot of the things I learned to do in the game came from my father.
"That was probably a more difficult task than actually getting back on the course because I have so many great memories of being with my dad on the golf course."
