Masters champion Zach Johnson won a sudden-death play-off against Japan's Ryuji Imada to take the Atlanta Classic in Duluth, Georgia.
Johnson carded a five-under 67 on Sunday to storm up the leaderboard while overnight leader Imada had to birdie the last to force extra holes.
Having both finished on 15 under for 72 holes, the two men returned to the par-five 18th to decide the title.
And when Imada found water with his second Johnson was home and dry.
"I admire (Imada's) courage in going for the shot," said Johnson. "I understand why he hit his shot.
"If it was a little bit right it may have carried on. We (then) thought about laying up but at the same time I had a perfect lie, perfect yardage.
"It was a really pretty routine shot."
Imada said: "I'm obviously disappointed right now but I think the decision I made on the play-off hole was the right one for me.
"I knew I had to get it across for me to make a birdie because I knew Zach was not going to make par from where he was."
