Level Johanna Westerberg (Swe)Bettina Hauert won a play-off against Australian Anna Rawson and Spain's Paula Marti to land the Swiss Open. The German carded birdies at the last three holes to make the shoot-out with a three-under total of 285.
And then, in her first professional play-off, Hauert recorded four more birdies at the par-five 18th to see off her two rivals in dramatic style.
British duo Eleanor Pilgrim and Trish Johnson shared fifth place, a shot behind Denmark's Lisa Holm Sorensen.
Hauert and Rawson, one of four co-leaders overnight, both had eagle putts to take the outright lead at the 72nd hole but neither managed to get them to drop.
And it was Hauert who finally took the title with a four-foot birdie to deny Marti, Rawson having been eliminated after a par at the second play-off hole.
"It was a fight from the first to the last but it's been great," said Hauert.
Pilgrim, who was also in the hunt for the title overnight, carded a final round 74 to finish level with Johnson, who carded a 69, on one under.
Fellow Brit Lora Fairclough, who started the day tied for the lead , carded 76 and finished in a tie for eighth place on one over.
