 Darren Clarke completed just a third of his opening round |
Darren Clarke was forced to withdraw from The Players Championship at Sawgrass after just six holes of his first round on Thursday. The Dungannon player pulled out because of an ongoing hamstring injury Dubliner Padraig Harrington is tied 75th after opening with a four-over-par 76, which included seven bogeys and three birdies. Harrington is nine shots behind leaders Rory Sabbatini of South African and American Phil Mickelson.
