Europe juniors retain Ryder Cup

Isabelle Lendl won all her matches at the Celtic Manor
Europe retained the Junior Ryder Cup after a 6-6 tie with the United States at the Celtic Manor on Tuesday.

But US star Isabelle Lendl, 15, the daughter of tennis great Ivan, left Wales with a 100% record.

She partnered Drew Kittleson to a 3 and 1 victory over German duo Sean Einhaus and Saskia Hausladen in the fourballs.

Nick Faldo, European Ryder Cup captain in 2008, presented the trophy and said: "I am sure there are some future Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup players here."


Tuesday's mixed fourballs (Europe first):
A Kristiansen/C Ciganda beat P Francis/E Choe 2 & 1;
S Einhaus/S Hausladen lost to D Kittleson/I Lendl 3 &1;
A Friestad/C Booth beat A Yun/K Schelling 3 and 2;
P Figueiredo/M Silva lost to B Cauley/V Hurst 3 & 2;
M Kieffer/L G-Escallon lost to T Finau/C Blaney one hole;
V Dubuisson/G Molinaro beat J Monte/B Altomare 4 & 3.
