Colombia's Camilo Villegas hit seven birdies in a six-under-par second round of 64 to be one of four players sharing the midway lead at the Candian Open.

Jesper Parnevik, Arron Oberholser and Johanthan Byrd all carded two-under-par rounds of 68 to join him on seven under, one ahead of nine other players.

Joint first round leaders Justin Rose and Jim Furyk both carded one-over par rounds of 71 to lie in that group.

Mike Weir, the 2003 Masters champion, failed to make the cut by five shots.
