The 40-year-old has played in six Ryder Cups and is best known for his inspirational partnership with countryman Seve Ballesteros. Olazabal's spot in the team looked solid until he was edged out of the top five on the world rankings list, having to defer to his European position. And at 10th on the list he took a risk by missing the last qualifying event. But results went in his favour and the two-time Masters champion will look to add to his impressive record of 15 wins, five halves and eight losses. Did you know? Olazabal was forced to drop out of the 1995 Ryder Cup with a chronic foot injury which kept him out for 18 months.
