Poulter's best form has returned just in time for the Ryder Cup |
Ian Poulter shot a one-under 71 at the USPGA on Sunday to claim a share of ninth place at Medinah. The Englishman's best previous result in a major had been a tie for 11th at the 2005 Open, although he did tie for 12th at the US Open in June.
The 30-year-old, who finished on nine under for the week, outscored playing partner Phil Mickelson by three shots.
And his strong finish at Medinah will have done his hopes of earning a Ryder Cup berth next month no harm at all.
