| Annika Sorenstam fired a two-under 69 to share in a four-way tie for the lead after the fog-delayed first round of the US Women's Open on Rhode Island. Sweden's Sorenstam, the world number one, led with 19-year-old American amateur Jane Park, her compatriot Pat Hurst and Korean Se Ri Pak. Wales' Becky Morgan, 31, was in a group one shot off the pace alongside Hawaiian 16-year-old Michelle Wie. Scotland's Catriona Matthew was the next best-placed Briton on three over. Thick fog prevented any play on Thursday, meaning round two will be played on Saturday, with 36 holes to finish on Sunday. "It's certainly going to be a tough weekend. It will be a physical and mental challenge. But I feel ready for it," said 35-year-old Sorenstam, who would equal Tiger Woods' tally of 10 major titles if she wins in Newport.
