Chris DiMarco, Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson celebrate USA's win |
Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player have been reappointed as captains for next year's Presidents Cup match in Canada. The match, between the US and players from nations outside Europe, will be played from 27-30 September at Royal Montreal, North America's oldest club.
Nicklaus will be taking the role for the fourth time after the USA won last year's event at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in northern Virginia.
Player will be chasing his first victory in his third time as captain.
"We couldn't be more pleased to have these two back and connected with the game," said PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem.
"We know there are a lot of players that should be captain. But in the big picture, this is still the infancy of the Presidents Cup."
The PGA have still to determine when qualifying for the event will end.
