 Graeme McDowell has missed six cuts in a row in the US |
Irish players Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley have missed the cut at the Verizon Heritage. McDowell was undone by a poor start to the second round and a four-over-par 75 saw him finish on three over.
Clarke, after an opening 76, picked up two early birdies but three bogeys after the turn ended his hopes as he shot 70 for a four-over-par total.
McGinley completed a poor day for the Irish when he missed the cut by one shot after a 72 left him one over.
Jim Furyk moved into the overall lead after adding a 67 to his opening 64.
He is two shots ahead of Australian Aaron Baddeley and Brian Gay who both fired 67s in South Carolina.
First round leader Vaughn Taylor moved to eight under by adding a 70 to his opening 63.
Fred Funk joined overnight leader Taylor on eight under after firing a 66.
