Hoylake is staging its first Open since 1967 this year |
India's Shiv Kapur and Australian pair Jarrod Lyle and Unho Park have booked their places at this year's Open from the Asian qualifying tournament. Park and Lyle, who survived a fight with leukaemia seven years ago, were top of the leaderboard on six under par 138 after closing rounds of 71 and 70.
Kapur, last year's Asian Tour Rookie of the Year, went through after four holes of a sudden-death play-off.
He held his nerve to edge out Korea's Lee Sung, after they finished on 139.
Lee missed a four-foot par putt at the final hole to give Kapur a chance, which he took when Lee hooked his drive into water at the 18th - the fourth extra hole.
