South Africa's Trevor Immelman carded a stunning six-under-par 64 to catapult himself into a share of the lead at the Byron Nelson Championship in Texas. Immelman managed a total of six birdies and did not drop a single shot as he joined Australia's Adam Scott in the lead after the third round.
Scott, though, remains right in contention after his 69.
England's Luke Donald is once again the leading European in the field in eighth place at six under.
Donald followed up an opening birdie with a bogey and then missed several chances before another birdie at the 16th.
Scott had looked on course to maintain his overnight lead with four birdies in the first eight holes but bogeys at the ninth, 12th and 14th let Immelman in.
Afterwards Immelman said: "I really played solidly today. That was probably the best round I've played all year.
"It's a fantastic feeling when you hit a lot of quality shots but that doesn't count until you hole the putts, and I managed to do that today."
Arron Oberholser failed to match his heroics of day two when he just missed out on a record round of 59. On Saturday he stuttered to a 72.
Of the other big names in the field, Ernie Els is tied for 18th on four under, while Vijay Singh is a shot back in 27th.
