Paul Casey kept up his good form to lead the British Masters by two shots going into the final round.

The Ryder Cup star managed five birdies in his round at The Belfry but had three bogeys, including one at the 18th which could yet prove costly

US Open champion Michael Campbell trails Casey in second place, with Darren Clarke a further shot behind.

Victory on Sunday would move Casey back into the world's top 50 after a disappointing run of form.

The Briton has happy memories of The Belfry. Three years ago he won the Benson and Hedges International at the course - the last European tour event to be held there.

Campbell began the third round four shots behind Casey but put himself in a strong position with birdies at the first three holes while Casey dropped a shot at the 3rd.

But the Englishman recovered to birdie the 7th and the 8th and when Campbell double-bogeyed the 9th, Casey was in control again.

Although he found the water at the 10th, he limited the damage to a bogey and then put in a solid run of form, spoiled only by the bogey at the 18th.

Casey expects a tough challenge from his New Zealand rival in Sunday's final round.

"Cambo is more than just another player - he is a tremendous player," he said. "To put the pressure back on me he's the man to beat. When he's hot he's extremely hot.

"He's looked after me. I got help from a lot of people when I went through my bad patch and he was certainly one of them.

"I know what it's like to win a tournament here, though, and hopefully that will help me."
