Wie's Masters bid comes to an end
Michelle Wie
Wie had been hoping to make history at Augusta
Michelle Wie's hopes of being invited to play in next year's US Masters have come to an end after she lost in the US Amateur Public Links championship.

The 15-year-old was hoping to win it and so become the first woman invited to play in the Masters at Augusta, and had reached the matchplay round.

But she was beaten 5 and 4 in the quarterfinal by Brigham Young University student Clay Ogden.

He now faces Chile's Martin Ureta in Saturday's 36-hole final.
