Davies is on the longest winless run of her 21-year career |
Laura Davies is keen to return to action when she and Kirsty Taylor represent England in the World Cup, which starts in South Africa on Friday. Davies, who has not won a tournament in two years, will compete in Sun City after an eight-week break.
"I've not hit a long shot in the past two months but I've worked on my short game in the back garden," she said.
Catriona Matthew and Janice Moodie head Scotland's bid, with Becky Morgan and Becky Brewerton lining up for Wales.
In last year's inaugural tournament at the Fancourt Resort in South Africa, which was won by Japan, England's team of Davies and Karen Stupples finished ninth.
But Davies has the confidence boost of having won at this year's venue, Sun City's Player course, before.
"This week will be a case of going out to make as many birdies as possible," added Davies.
"Fancourt was a fantastic course but it was just so difficult."

World number one Annika Sorenstam will be teaming up with her childhood role model Liselotte Neumann in Sweden's team.
"I will never forget the day she won, the US Open," said Sorenstam.
"I remember just walking down to get a newspaper and she was covered everywhere and on every newspaper she was on the cover.
"I admire Liselotte for a lot of things. She is a first class lady, so for me to be her partner is a great honour."
Sorenstam said she was looking forward to the event.
"I think there are many good teams here this week - a lot of great players have come and really wanted to participate, said Sorenstam.
"I felt this was a tournament I didn't want to miss. I wanted to be a part of it.
"I'll focus on the Majors again this year. That's what really gets me going, the bigger tournaments."
