Warren Abery
Warren Abery is in pole position for the Open in July
Warren Abery took a three-stroke lead at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Clubs in final qualifying for the 2006 Open, the year's third major.

The South African shot a five-under 66 in front to lead six players grouped at two-under at the halfway stage.

Scotland's Doug McGuigan and Brazilian Adilson Da Silva were a further shot back in the quest to tee off at Hoylake in Wirral on 20 July.

Australasia, Asia, America and Europe will also hold qualifying events.
