Bernhard Langer ensured he was not among some big-name failures in America during qualifying for the US Open. The former Masters winner and European Ryder Cup captain, 48, shot a two-round total of 134 at Westerville, Ohio, to make the field for Pinehurst.
Those who did not qualify included Paul Azinger, Mark Calcavecchia, Jose Maria Olazabal, Jesper Parnevik and English duo Greg Owen and Justin Rose.
Wales' Philip Price missed out in a play-off but is first alternate.
Australia's Geoff Ogilvy topped the leaderboard in Ohio with rounds of 67 and 64 on adjacent courses.
The sectional qualifier in suburban Columbus had a strong field following the PGA Tour's Memorial tournament at nearby Muirfield Village Golf Club.
Joining Ogilvy and Langer among the qualifiers at Westerville were fellow pros Scott McCarron (133), John Rollins (133) and John Cook (135).
Also making the field, all with scores of eight-under 136, were Ted Purdy, Robert Gamez, Aaron Olberholzer, John Merrick, Carl Pettersson, Bob Tway, Bill Glasson, Euan Walters and Joe Ogilvie.
Seven players at 137 had to go to a play-off to determine the six remaining qualifying spots.
Frank Lickliter II, Brandt Jobe, Bob Estes, Steve Lowery, Eric Axley and Sal Spallone survived the two-hole play-off, with Price the odd man out.
The US Open, the second major of the season, starts in North Carolina on 16 June.
Qualifying at East Lake in Atlanta was suspended until Tuesday, with players only playing 18 holes because of weather. Among those vying for spots are former US Amateur champions Matt Kuchar and Nick Flanagan.
