Europe's 2004 Ryder Cup-winning captain Bernhard Langer has become an honorary OBE for his services to golf. The 48-year-old, a two-time Masters champion, has claimed 42 European Tour titles, the first coming in 1980 when he won the Dunlop British Masters.
He made his Ryder Cup debut in 1981 and in nine subsequent appearances played in five winning teams in 1985, 1987, 1995, 1997 and 2002.
He then guided Europe to a huge 18�-9� win over the USA two years later.
