Graeme McDowell is at present lying 22nd in Ryder Cup list |
Paul McGinley believes that Portrush golfer Graeme McDowell will be in the Ryder Cup team at Ireland's K club. The Irish pair picked-up maximum points points as they helped Europe secure the Royal Cup at the weekend, and McGinley was impressed with the Ulsterman.
"I'd never played with Graeme before but our game is fairly similar. I found him an easy guy to play with," he said.
"I have no doubt he will make the team if things go right for him this year. But he will have a lot of work to do."
McDowell still has ground to make up in the qualifying process.
"There are so many good players in European golf at the moment," McGinley told the Irish Independent.
"This is going to be an extremely hard team to make."
McDowell is at present lying in 22nd place in the Ryder Cup European points list and will need a string of good performances to make that team for the Co Kildare venue.
