Early Irish Open start for Clarke
Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke
Clarke is hoping to become the first home winner since 1982
Darren Clarke will have an early start in the opening round of the Nissan Irish Open at Carton House on Thursday.

Clarke will tee off from the 10th alongside Nick O'Hern and Miguel Angel Jimenez at 0800 BST.

Graeme McDowell has a later start at 1300 alongside Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam and Steve Webster.

Teenager Rory McIlroy, who won the West of Ireland Amateur Open at Easter, will tee off at 1330 along with Peter Fowler and Alessandro Tadini.

Padraig Harrington has a 0740 start alongside Soren Hansen and Simon Khan while Paul McGinley tees off at 1250 with Stephen Gallacher and Lee Westwood.

Of the other Ulster players, Damien Mooney tees off at 0820 while amateur Conor Doran starts at 1410.
