Price is now 72nd in the world |
Former world number one Nick Price has accepted a special exemption to compete in this year's US Open at Pinehurst. The 48-year-old Zimbabwean, now 72nd in the world, received the invitation after a vote of the United States Golf Association's executive committee.
Price, winner of The Open in 1994 and the US PGA Championship in 1992 and 1994, cut his schedule last year to spend more time with his family.
The US Open, the second major of the year, runs from 16-19 June.
South Africa's Retief Goosen, the 2001 champion, will defend the title he won for a second time at Shinnecock Hills last year.
