 Rory McIlroy fired eight bogeys in second round of Australian Open | Northern Ireland amateur Rory McIlroy missed the halfway cut after firing a 79 in the second round of the Australian Open in Victoria. The Holywood teenager struggled with eight bogeys and a birdie to finish on 152 at eight over. McIlroy was well behind local Australian hero Robert Allenby who is five shots clear of the field on nine under after Saturday's third round. Former Warrenpoint assistant Eddie Barr also missed the cut.
