Rookie Ross Fisher carded a third-round four-under 68 for a one-shot lead over fellow Briton Oliver Wilson and Thai Chawalit Plaphol at the China Open.

Wilson made a one-under 71 to retain a share of second on eight-under with overnight leader Plaphol, who slipped a spot after a struggling two-over 74.

China's Lian-Wei Zhang delighted the locals with a seven-under 66 to finish one stroke further back on nine under.

England's Miles Tunnicliff (70) and Barry Lane (67) are on eight-under.

Fisher is playing in only his 11th full European Tour event.

And the Surrey man described leading going into the final round as "an awesome feeling".

It was pretty cool to see my name on the leaderboard

"This is very uncharted territory," said the 25-year-old, who sank four birdies in his last seven holes for a nine-under 205 total on Saturday.

"I played a few tour events last season which has been a massive help to me, just to be out there competing with the big boys.

"I've won a few events but I don't think anything can compare to this. It was pretty cool to see my name on the leaderboard and now I can't wait for Sunday."

Pre-tournament favourite Paul Casey looked like getting right back in contention for his second victory of the year in China.

But bogeys at the 16th and 17th ensured the world number 61's frustrating week continued and left him five off the lead on six under.

"There were a lot of shots left out there," he said.

"I could not hole any putts and always seemed to kill my momentum when I got going."

Defending champion Stephen Dodd carded a disappointing two-over 74 to drop back to level par for the tournament.

And fellow Englishman Nick Dougherty - dogged by a bout of food poisoning earlier in the week - shot a four-over 76 to leave him way down the field.
