Sam Torrance clinched the European Seniors Tour Order of Merit after finishing joint third at the end-of-season Arcapita tournament. Ireland's Des Smyth claimed a two-stroke victory at the Bahrain event which gave him a maiden triumph.
Torrance's win put Scotland into the record books as they provided winners of this season's three European Tours.
Colin Montgomerie topped the European Order of Merit while Marc Warren won the Challenge Tour.
"It feels awesome to be number one," said Torrance.
"It is something I have wanted all my life and I am very proud of it.
"It has been a great season and I have had three memorable wins.
"I gave up playing in America last year to commit to the European Seniors Tour and it has proved fruitful."
