Thailand's Thaworn Wiratchant snatched a one-shot lead at the end of the second round of the Indonesian Open thanks to an eagle at the final hole. A second consecutive 63 put him on 14-under, ahead of Nicolas Colsaerts.
Colin Montgomerie, who needs a win to earn a place at the US Masters, was three-under after 13 holes, the projected cut, when play was suspended.
The weather caused a second consecutive early finish and 64 players must finish their second rounds on Saturday.
First round leaders Arjun Atwal and Michael Hoey were 10-under after 13 and nine holes respectively when play was abandoned for the day.
But the star of the day was the Thai player, who has yet to miss a cut this year.
He had already bagged several birdies by the time he reached the final hole, where he did not even need to take his putter from the bag.
A 70-yard wedge shot meant he signed off with a three at the par five 18th to end the day in first place.
"It was a long day. I had to come back to finish my first round in the morning and had six holes to play," said Thaworn.
"It is good to be at the top of the leaderboard and I'll do my best at the weekend," he said.
