Missed alarm call sees Goosen out
Retief Goosen
Goosen's absence means only two top-10 players feature
Retief Goosen has been disqualified from the Nissan Open in Los Angeles after missing his tee time for the Pro-Am tournament.

The 36-year-old South African, ranked fifth in the world, failed to get a requested wake-up call and overslept.

Only two of the top-10 ranked golfers in the world - Tiger Woods and Mike Weir - remain in the field.

"If you miss your time in the Pro-Am, you can't play in the tournament," said PGA Tour rules official Mark Russell.

"He didn't get a wake-up call and he had a 6.40am time which he requested, and he was not able to make that and we put the first alternate in there."
