Nick Dougherty has won the European Tour Golfer of the Month award for January after a superb run of form. The 22-year-old from Liverpool finished tied for fourth in the South African Open and then claimed his maiden tour title at the Singapore Masters.
The former Walker Cup star produced a superb display in Singapore, holding off Thomas Bjorn, Colin Montgomerie and Maarten Lafeber to win by five shots.
Vijay Singh, Simon Wakefield and Ernie Els were also considered.
Dougherty was the unanimous choice of the award's panel.
