South Korean duo Soo-Yun Kang and Sung Ah Yim both had rounds of eight under par 64 to lead after the first round of the Safeway Classic in Oregon. The pair lead compatriot Hee-Won Han and American Rosie Jones by one shot. Rookie Yim had six birdies on the front nine for her best round of her season while Kang helped her challenge with an eagle at the seventh. British Open winner Jeong Jang and rookie star Paula Creamer are among a group on five under. Luciana Bemvenuti had a share of the lead going into the 18th hole, but had a double bogey there to fall out of contention.
