 McDowell hurt his back in a car crash |
Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell has pulled out of the NEC Invitational World Championship event with a recurrence of a back injury. McDowell was six over after 13 holes of his first round at Firestone when he decided to withdraw.
Four weeks ago McDowell, the world number 43, was a back-seat passenger in a 40mph car crash.
He missed the cut in the USPGA after being a doubtful starter right up to his tee-off time.
