World number one Vijay Singh moved into the lead at the Chrysler Championship after a four-under-par 67. A ninth tournament victory for the Fijian would see him become the first player to win over $10m in a season.
But the 41-year-old, who leads Tommy Armour III by a shot, warned: "I haven't won yet. Two or three under should do it for me, I think."
Jeff Sluman, joint leader after two rounds, shot a 74 and now lies five shots off the lead.
Sweden's Jesper Parnevik and Kirk Triplett share third, while Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal, Jonathan Byrd and Tom Carter are two shots further back.
Britain's Justin Rose is in a group of five on six under after a third-round 71.
