Montgomerie has not played since missing the cut at the Masters. |
Colin Montgomerie will play in the British Masters at the Forest of Arden from 6-9 May. The Scot withdrew from the Singapore Masters after announcing that he was separating from his wife and was expected to miss the event.
But his manager Guy Kinnings said: "Colin's planning to play at this stage.
"Although he withdrew from the pro-am, he's been practising hard. He doesn't feel he needs to be at the course until the first round on Thursday."
Montgomerie won the English Open at the Forest of Arden in 1994 and the British Masters there in 1998.
He has not played competitive golf since missing the cut at last month's Masters.
