Christina Kim took a one-shot lead at the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship with a superb seven-under-par 65. Kim, who started her round on the back nine, made nine birdies, including three in a row over the first three and the last three holes.
South Korea's Grace Park - winner of last month's Kraft Nabisco Championship - was back in second.
"I finally figured out that when you hit the irons close, it's actually easier to make the putts," joked Kim.
She added: "I had a really good round - I'm trying not to worry what other people are doing."
Wales' Becky Morgan, Lorie Kane and Cristie Kerr were a further shot behind in third.
Defending champion Se Ri Pak is tied for sixth with Catriona Matthew and Lorena Ochoa on four under, while world number one Annika Sorenstam is still in contention at one -under.
