Dougherty looks to improve

English golfer Nick Dougherty is looking to give his poor season a boost when he tees off in the Algarve Open de Portugal, which starts on Thursday. Dougherty has been working with swing guru David Leadbetter but has yet to see any improvement in his scores. "I've got no exemption for next year so I can't afford to play poorly until September," he said. "I do want to be playing at least half decent before we get to the big tournaments later on."
