Britain's Laura Davies moved into a four-stroke lead after the second round of the Australian Open in Sydney. Davies made seven birdies in windy conditions on her way to a 68 that leaves her eight under par at the halfway stage.
Italy's Sophie Sandolo shot 69 to go second on four under, while Australia's Nadina Taylor went third on two under.
Defending champion Mhairi MacKay of Scotland struggled to a 75, slipping to five over par.
Denmark's Christina Kuld, who had shared the first-round lead with Davies, could only manage a 76 to leave her on two under, while a 73 left Australia's Karrie Webb out of touch on four over.
Transsexual Mianne Bagger missed the cut, set at nine over, but improved on her opening day's 84 with a 74.
"No lead is ever big enough and it's way too early to start thinking about victory," said Davies.
"This is a very narrow course and it's easy to let shots slip away."
