Nicholas pushes Gustafson
Sweden's Sophie Gustafson
Gustafson shot a second-round 69 at Warrenpoint
Sweden's Sophie Gustafson kept on course for an Irish double by keeping a one-shot lead after the second round of the BT Ladies Open at Warrenpoint in Co Down.

Gustafson, who won the Ladies Irish Open in June, fired a three-under-par 69 to follow her first-round 66.

Gustafson, enjoying a rich vein of form, is on course for back-to-back victories after winning last week in Stockholm at the HP Open.

But the 29-year-old is being pursued by England's Alison Nicholas. Great Britain and Ireland's Solheim Cup vice-captain matched the Swede with a 69 to follow her 67 on Thursday.

A shot further back was New Zealander Lynnette Brooky, while Australian Rebecca Stevenson was in joint fourth with Florence Descampe of Belgium.

Stevenson and Denmark's Iben Tinning fired the best rounds of the day with five-under-par 67s.
