Scottish golfer Sam Torrance has quit the European Tour to pursue a new career on the seniors circuit, according to a report. Torrance, who led Europe to victory in the Ryder Cup last September, has played almost 300 tournaments on the European Tour in a career spanning more than 30 years.
"That's it," Torrance told the Daily Mail newspaper at Sunningdale Golf Club on Tuesday.
"It's time to take up new challenges and to embark on another stage of my career."

The 49-year-old will play at the Seniors Scottish Open on 29 August and hopes to win a card enabling him to join the highly-lucrative US Seniors Tour.
"My next tournament will be as a senior in my native Scotland at the end of August," Torrance said.
That tournament - at the Roxburghe in the Borders - precedes the European Senior Masters at Woburn.
And then, Torrance hopes to make some money by following the Champions Tour in America.
"I am looking for some sponsors' invitations in the US to see if I can win my card there," he said.
"However I will not turn my back on Europe. I never have and I never will."
