![]() | Sunday, 10 February, 2002, 17:12 GMT Rose doubles title tally ![]() Justin Rose is close to the top of the order of merit England's Justin Rose has won the second title of his professional career by winning the Nashua Masters in South Africa. Rose had started the final round as joint leader with four other players and a finishing 68 makes it two titles in three weeks for the 21-year-old. His 15-under-par total of 265 at the Wild Coast Sun Country Club was one ahead of South African Titch Moore, with Andre Cruse, who shot a 63, a further stroke back. "I enjoyed the whole tournament, and I loved the course, even though it showed its teeth today," said Rose. "It's the first time I've won from the front like that, and I found it more difficult than making a charge. Striking distance A late rally from Moore failed to unnerve the Briton. "I got calmer as he got closer," he said. Rose, who was born in South Africa and spent the first five years of his life there, captured the Alfred Dunhill Championship in Johannesburg in January. He is now within striking distance of Southern African Tour Order of Merit Tim Clark with just next week's Tour Championship left to play. |
