Ollie is all geared up for Sunday |
This week the Plymouth manager gives his views on the FA Cup quarter-final with Watford and why he wants everyone to wear green.
Plus his thoughts on the Argyle teenagers who trained with Chelsea, the mystery virus that laid him low and the emotional return to QPR.
FA CUP QUARTER-FINAL WITH WATFORD
I'm optimistic. I was very upset to start with when people were saying it was a winnable tie for us because that's terribly disrespectful towards Watford. I'm sure they'll look at it and think 'good gracious me, we've got Plymouth away - that's a winnable tie'.
It will be a momentous occasion for us. We're at home and we've sold out all our tickets, which is fantastic, and the town's gone absolutely mental.
Anything you like - as long as it's green |
I'm asking everyone to wear something green on Sunday, whether it's their Argyle shirts, socks or even their underpants.
Even those people who don't support Plymouth but are watching the game on TV and rooting for us should wear something green.
I'm hoping we can press the pedal to the metal and be on form because we're gonna need to be. We'll need to pull out all the stops out to keep up with Watford but I believe in my side and I believe they will rise to the occasion - hopefully it'll be memorable.
REVENGE MISSION FOR 1984 SEMI-FINAL DEFEAT?
It's very, very handy for the media to have such an obvious link because it's given all you boys something to talk about!
Those people who played all those years ago are still revered in the town and I would love it if our lads could emulate them. They work so hard for each other and this club - it's phenomenal.
This lot are a very special group and I'd love them to go one step further and yes, if you like, I suppose some fans might see it as a bit of revenge if we did.
THE LAST TIME PLYMOUTH MET WATFORD IN THE CUP, ELTON JOHN WAS MARRIED...TO A WOMAN
Elton is over his woman phase |
Well he obviously wasn't very happy then, was he? And it's nice that he's with his soulmate right now.
At the end of the day that fella has given so much entertainment to so many millions of people in his life and it's great that he's also found someone he loves.
DAN GOSLING AND LUKE SUMMERFIELD TRAINING WITH CHELSEA
They trained with Chelsea but they don't play for Chelsea, they play for us. The nice thing is I believe we've got some very good young players that I've inherited at the club.
Scotty Sinclair was someone I knew a long time ago. I've brought him here on loan from Chelsea and he's been an instant hit.
When Chelsea came to see how he was getting on, they liked the look of Gos and Summers and I let them go up there to train with them for a week.
I believe my job is to inspire people to be the best they can be and unless you see the best at first hand, how can you know what the standard is?
It was a great experience for them to go up there, train on their awesome training ground and play with some of their top players. I think even Mr Mourinho was watching.
As a young kid - one's 17 and one's 18 - that's priceless. It's not about me selling them to Chelsea, what it's about is me inspiring them, with the help of Chelsea, to try and make them as good as they can possibly be.
NASTY VIRUS THAT LAID OLLIE LOW LAST WEEK
This flu bug has strange side effects |
I think the players were relieved. I think one or two of them deliberately planted it in me so they didn't have to see me for a week and listen to my ravings.
I wasn't very well at all. I had real flu - not man flu, real flu.
My striker, Kevin Gallen, said I looked like Gollum from Lord of the Rings because I'd shed a few pounds by the time I came back.
I take that as a compliment. I was getting a bit chubby with all those pasties I've been eating down here and it's nice to lose a little bit of weight again.
THE RETURN TO QPR
It was very emotional. I don't do relationships lightly. I'm very committed and I always have been. Whether you want all of me or not, you get it when you employ me.
I had five years at QPR and it didn't end how I wanted it to end but as a manager sometimes you're not in control of the situation.
There were some awful things said that weren't true and at the end of the day I had some great friendships there and when I went back I was fortunate enough to be supported by the whole of the crowd.

To go back under those circumstances and try to win a game - which you have to do, otherwise you wouldn't be doing your job - was very strange for me because I wish them all the very best.
You don't spend five years of your life there and not care about them - not if you're Ian Holloway.
I'm rooting for them and I'm very proud they made me stay at that club for that long but now I'm a Green Army man through and through.
PUNTER'S QUESTION
'Jack': If you had a choice between reaching the FA Cup final and winning promotion to the Premiership, what would it be?
Promotion all day long, but if we don't get that this year then the FA Cup final would be a very good second best.
I've been asked to appear on a show on Cup final day but I thought, hang on a minute - I might actually be at Wembley!
