This town ain't big enough for both of us |
Hard-drinking bikers have forced Scotland's Rugby World Cup squad to move out of their team hotel.
Coach Ian McGeechan took the decision after being told they would have to share their plush training headquarters with about 200 "Bandidos" and their families.
The bikers - bitter rivals of the Hell's Angels - are having a conference at the hotel, but it is the drinks reception starting at midnight on Saturday that is causing the problem.
Scotland play the USA in their second group match just 48 hours later and McGeechan decided it wouldn't be ideal preparation.
Scotland coach Dougie Morgan said: "We will be checking out of Rydges on Friday this week instead of the following Monday.
"We have nothing against the bikers and we hope they will have as enjoyable a time in Caloundra as we are having.
"But there are about 200 of them and we thought it might not the right atmosphere for the players to prepare."
Especially as the gang's motto is: "We are the people that our parents warned us about."
The Scots have enjoyed their stay in Queensland |
The Scots have been based for the last fortnight at the Rydges Oasis resort hotel on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
They will now be staying 60 miles away in a Brisbane city centre hotel, close to the Suncorp Stadium, where they face the USA.
Let's hope they'll be revved up for victory.
