| Goals galore as records tumble ![]() An African football team has been beaten an astounding 149-0 after their coach lost his temper and told his team to score own goals, according to Radio Madagascar. National champions AS Adema hammered rivals Stade Olympique l'Emyrne (SOE) by the incredible score, without having to lift a finger. After arguing with the referee, SOE's coach, Ratsimandresy Ratsarazaka, instructed his team to put the ball into their own net, and they did not disappoint their angry boss. Spectators told Radio Madagascar that Adema's players stood around looking bemused as the opposition did all the work for them. Good pedigree The radio station claimed the result was a new world-record score in a top-flight match. The Guinness Book of Records say there is no record for the highest score in a club game. They only have records for international matches or games involving under-age players. SOE were last year's Malagasy champions and they made it through to the second round of the African Champions League this season. Adema clinched the 2002 Malagasy title last weekend. The bizarre scoreline makes Arbroath's British record 36-0 win against Bon Accord in the Scottish FA Cup in 1885 look like a closely-fought encounter. | Top Funny Old Game stories now: Links to more Funny Old Game stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
