Licenced to thrill
As Pam Shriver announces her engagement to former James Bond actor George Lazenby, BBC Sport Online's Chris Charles looks at which tennis stars could land parts in 007 films.

The Australian Open has provided us with some great drama over the past fortnight.

All the Aussies out within the first five minutes, Tim Henman cruelly raising the hopes of a nation (again) and Seles winning the battle of the grunts against Williams.

But none of these even come close to the shock announcement of Pam Shriver's impending marriage to James Bond actor George Lazenby.

In her prime, Shriver partnered Martina Navratilova to a record 109 successive doubles victories, while Lazenby was asked to fill the 007 role...once.

Don't call us, George

In fact, some of today's tennis stars would probably have more chance than him of appearing in another Bond film.

Andre Agassi could certainly be a convincing Sean Connery - bald head, adored by women, licenced to thrill.

It's tough to say what would be more comical to see - Agassi in a dress suit or Connery wearing a pair of shorts and a headband.

Anna Kournikova has already been mentioned as a future Bond girl - and there's no doubt she has all the right credentials.

There's the East European accent, the long blonde hair, the film star looks. And of course, she always has plenty of spare time on her hands.

Greg Rusedski is a dead ringer for the giant 'Jaws', who appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.

Tall and powerful, with a mouth full of teeth - the player would certainly have no problems with the American accent.

And finally there's Henman, who would make a convincing Dr No after a few hours in make-up.

The evil Doctor's bids for world domination always end in tears, just as he appears to have the measure of his opponents.

Sound familiar?

Mind you, if the Tiger can finally achieve his Wimbledon dream in Jubilee year, he will become forever known as The Man With The Golden Grin.

There's more chance of Lazenby replacing Pierce Brosnan.
