1626: OLYMPICS - The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) officially takes charge of transforming the Olympic Park venues after the 2012 Games. Transformation responsibilities, including a budget and scope of more than £300m are moved from the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), the 2012 builders, to the OPLC. With building work at the 500-acre Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, nearing completion, this transfer of conversion work means that a single public body will be responsible for the site after the summer of 2012.
