The BBC has joined forces with Sport England and UK Sport to host 13 summits which challenge people to change the face of sport in their area.

The outcome of each local event will help decide the agenda of the national summit at TV Centre on 16 March.

The first event was in Ipswich on 18 January, with sport stars Danny Crates and Karen Pickering joining the debate.

Richard Caborn, Minister for Sport, said: "The BBC Sport Summits will generate ideas and action - and inform decision makers.

"Our aim is to build on the strong foundation we have established for sport in this country and incorporate the ideas from these sport summits to ensure we look forward to an even stronger sporting future for all."

Chris Perks, Acting Regional Director of Sport England East, said: "We don't want these events to be simply talking shop.

"They are designed to be calls to action - asking people to pledge to make a difference to sport in their communities.

"Sport plays a huge part of life in our communities and has the potential to perform an even greater role in improving health, reducing crime and making our communities better places to live."
