It may have taken a week, but Henmania is now in full swing.

Tim Henman saw off last year's beaten finalist, David Nalbandian, in four fluctuating sets at Wimbledon on Monday - and Tuesday's papers are already plotting his path to the final.

With world number one Andre Agassi losing to Mark Philippoussis at SW19, the Daily Mail's Ivan Speck writes: "Tim Henman's path to Wimbledon glory opened up in dramatic fashion last night as darkness descended at the All England Club."

Paul Hayward is impressed with Henman's win over his top-10 opponent in the Daily Telegraph.

"Nalbandian is no sponge. He was last year's beaten finalist and has established a reputation as a scrapper, a chaser of seemingly lost causes."

And Hayward is amazed by Henman's seemingly innate ability to fray the nerves of his supporters.

"For such an impassive soul Henman has a bottomless capacity for melodrama," he writes.

Henman could now face Philippoussis in the semi-finals after the Australian thumped down a record-equalling 46 aces in his win over Agassi.

"It was tennis's equivalent of pattern bombing," opines James Lawton in The Independent.

Yet while Henmania seems once again to be sweeping the country, two of the tabloids maintain a sense of normality by leading with stories about David Beckham.

The Sun reveals that Beckham's Real Madrid medical will be sponsored by a Spanish private health company.

The Daily Star says the England captain is refusing to appear in a Manchester United video paying tribute to his Old Trafford career.
