Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba is still suffering from the effects of the broken elbow sustained before the World Cup, says defender Souleymane Bamba.
The Chelsea forward broke his elbow in a friendly with Japan a week before the finals kicked off and has been playing with a cast on his injured arm.
"We can tell he is still not 100% fit," said Hibernian defender Bamba.
"Didier is our captain and a massive influence and it was a disappointment with his injury."
Drogba came on as a substitute in the goalless draw with Portugal on 15 June, wearing the protective cast, and played from the start in the 3-1 loss to Brazil on Sunday.
The 32-year-old scored the only goal for the Elephants in that game and the west Africans still have a mathematical chance of making the last 16.
They face bottom side North Korea in their final game but getting out of Group G looks virtually impossible after Portugal beat North Korea 7-0 on Monday to give them a goal difference nine better than that of the Ivory Coast.
"We can still make the last 16," insisted Bamba. "After all, I didn't think England were going to draw their first two matches so anything is possible."
