World Cup guide - Uruguay Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has cut Catania striker Jorge Martinez from his final 23-man World Cup squad. River Plate midfielder Jorge Rodriguez and Nacional winger Alvaro Gonzalez have also been left out of the squad to travel to South Africa. Uruguay line up with hosts South Africa, Mexico and France in Group A. Former Manchester United and current Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan is included in the party with only two home-based players named in the squad.
