Blatter said the TFF's behaviour was poor |
The Togolese Football Federation (TFF) will face disciplinary action from Fifa after disrupting the World Cup with squabbles over bonuses. "The Togolese Football Federation will, I am quite sure, be hearing from the disciplinary committee," said Fifa president Sepp Blatter on Friday.
Togo's players had threatened to boycott their game against Switzerland, after failing to reach a financial agreement with the TFF, which compelled Fifa to intervene in order to resolve the dispute.
Fifa will now make direct payments to the Togolese players, which will be deducted from Togo's $5.6 million World Cup appearance fee.
"We cannot tolerate a situation where an association participating in a World Cup causes the kind of problems that they have," Blatter went on.
Togo's German coach Otto Pfister stormed out of the team's camp on the eve of their first match against South Korea, only to return.
The west Africans were eliminated from the ongoing tournament after losing their second match to Switzerland.
But they take on France in their final Group G game on Friday.
