Pfister says he is keen to stay |
Togo coach Otto Pfister is keen to stay with the team beyond the World Cup finals. "I'd like to continue. I have a very good relationship with my players," said the German.
"I only have problems with some officials and Im not going to repeat these problems.
"The president of the [Togolese Football] federation phoned me and asked me to continue looking after the team after the World Cup.
"I told him 'let's finish this competition first and then I'll analyse everything and make some proposals but I cant make a final decision now."
Pfister dramatically resigned before Togo's opening game against South Korea, as a result of a financial dispute between the players and the federation.
But he returned to the side after Togo's players appealed to him to reverse the decision.
Striker Sheyi Adebayor believes Pfister could help Togo to build on the progress they have made in the last one year.
"We would like to have him as coach next season," said the Arsenal player.
"But we can't take that decision, as our only obligation is to play football.
"We have a federation and a president that will take the final decision."
Wenny Dogbaste, the first vice-president of the TFF, said: "We will be meeting next week to discuss the appropriate way forward."
