The Togo Football Federation are trying to resolve a row over bonuses |
The Togo Football Federation (TFF) says it is close to a deal with its players over their bonuses for the World Cup finals. "We're very close to a deal, everything will be settled," said Larsen Dobou, a member of the Togolese delegation.
On Friday, the TFF made a revised offer of US$155,000 (82,500) per man for competing in the finals.
They have also offered US$39,000 (20,500) per victory and half that amount for a draw.
The players had initially made a demand for $200,000 each.
Federation president Rock Gnassingbe said: "We've had discussions with the players and reached common ground."
Otto Pfister, Togo's coach, said the dispute is being resolved in a way that will not distract the team from its forthcoming Group G games against France, Switzerland and South Korea.
We had small and big problems, but we're treating them all in-house," Pfister said.
Meanwhile, striker Emmanuel Adebayor said he was not concerned at the way Togo struggled to beat tiny Lichtenstein 1-0 in their last friendly.
"It's not a worry as we were playing with our B team. We want to go far [at the World Cup] and make our country proud," the Arsenal forward said.
